Riverlights Online 2020

The Riverlights Multicultural Festival will proceed in 2020, however, not in its usual format.

Instead of hosting a physical event for Riverlights, Maitland City Council will bring new and exciting digital content to life through our social media platforms with ‘Riverlights Online’.

Riverlights Online is a six part web series that will celebrate the sights, tastes and sounds of Riverlights with the sharing of stories through dance, music, language and food for the community to enjoy in the comfort of their own home.

The six part series will premiere every day at 3.00pm from Monday 5 October with a finale closing out the series at 3.00pm on Saturday 10 October. Riverlights Online can be viewed on the Riverlights Online Facebook event, The Levee Facebook page, MyMaitland Instagram and Riverlights website.

With the assistance of Slow Food Hunter Valley, Riverlights Online will feature cooking demonstrations of traditional cultural dishes from Vietnam to South Sudan to South Korea and across the world. Each demonstration will be sure to tantalise the taste buds.

Riverlights Online will feature Indigenous Australian, Russian, Flamenco, Capoeira Aruanda, Greek, Indian, South American and Scottish music and dance performances as well as storytelling, poetry reading and language lessons from Tamil Sangam and Esperanto Federation of NSW.

A big thank you to our sponsors Greater Bank and 2NURFM for your continued support in the event.
